Police in Bardege-Layibi Division in Gulu city have arrested 13 suspected wrong elements who were found in possession with government stores to wit Police Uniforms and Army Jackets.
The arrest came following an intensified intelligence led operation in the areas of Lacor and St. Jude, all in Gulu city.
David Ongom Mudong, the spokesperson for Aswa west police region confirms the arrest saying the suspects are being screened and interrogated accordingly as pending charges are being prepared against them.
According to Mudong, the suspects are being detained at Bardege-Layibi division central police station.
Police have applauded both the civil and military intelligence components for the timely provision of information that led to the success of these operations.
They however urged the civilian community to remain calm and continue exercising personal security through neighborhood watch.
Meanwhile police pledged continuous intensification of both covert and overt operations before, during and after the Christmas festivities.
On Wednesday UPDF identified Ojok Bonny who is also a secondary school teacher attached to Gulu army secondary school was shot dead from his mobile money stall in Lacor centre by unknown assailants.
