After nearly a decade apart, the Lira Town College Class of 2016 held a successful general meeting focused on development and giving back to their alma mater.
The alumni discussed key initiatives, including mentorship programs for current students and infrastructure projects to support the school’s growth. They reconnected, strengthened their unity, and committed to shaping the future of their alumni association.
The Interim President, Mr Opio Haron Justine urged members to remain engaged and proactive, noting that many are now in their active or marriage age brackets.
He emphasized that a strong association would help boost members’ ability to secure jobs, access markets, and support one another during emergencies and team needs.
He added that structures are being put in place to ensure the fully registered association stands out, while calling for discipline among members.
Vice President Sharon Aciro called on members to be proactive in finances, urging them to contribute towards charity, project fees, T-shirts, and to consistently attend and support association meetings.
Emmanuel Angoda, the Patron of the association, commended the class for creating the body. “There are very many alumni associations of Lira Town College, but LTC Class of 2016 is challenges and standing out,” he said.
He encouraged members to seek more partnerships and lobby for resources to implement their projects.
The Lira Town College Class of 2016 is a non-profit association comprising former students who sat their National A-Level examinations in 2016.
Ten years after leaving the school, the members are determined to leave a lasting footprint and maintain strong relationships among themselves and the school community.
This reunion marks the beginning of what promises to be an active and impactful journey for the association.
