On Tuesday, musician Okello Alfred Joe, commonly known as KD Kristo, testified in court that he reported Bosmic Otim, to police to teach him a lesson.
Addressing the magistrate, Kristo said his intention was not to destroy his brother, but to make him understand that what he did was wrong.
Kristo also expressed fear for his safety. He told the court that his concern was that those threatening his life might join together and harm him once his brother was released. That, he said, was the reason he decided to inform the court about the threats coming from outside.
KD Kristo, who is also an NRM mobilizer, asked the court for security, saying he has been receiving threats since the case began.
He stated that while outside court, the intimidation he received came from the accused’s sister after court sessions, and he has also faced other threats on social media.
Kristo went on to name three people he said had threatened him. The first is Donge Samuel, who he said is based in Australia.
According to Kristo, Samuel sent a warning on social media giving him three days to release Bosmic Otim, and threatened to cause another rebel group in Northern Uganda if he did not comply.
The second person mentioned was Aleng Fatuma, who allegedly told him she would go to a filling station, buy petrol, and set him on fire. The third person named was musician Maria A.
Kristo told the court that this was the reason he requested security. He added that he wanted people in court to understand him clearly, because the accused’s sister, Hon. Aparo, has been saying he arrested Bosmic because he wants money.
Bosmic Otim was arrested on July 11, 2026 in Gulu City for allegedly committing grievous bodily harm against musician KD Kristo.
He was remanded to Kitgum Government Prison on July 13, 2026 for 1 week and Tuesday, July 21, 2026, the Kitgum Chief Magistrate’s Court granted him cash bail of UGX 2 million.
The court adjourned the matter to August 4, 2026 for hearing. Otim was ordered to continue reporting to court on the scheduled dates.
