Popular Arua-based Ugandan dancehall artist Super Snazzy has reportedly been arrested and detained at Nimule Border Police Station by South Sudanese authorities over alleged illegal entry.

The singer, who performed at a show in South Sudan’s capital, Juba, over the weekend, was reportedly arrested while returning to Uganda after failing to present the required immigration documents.

According to reports, Super Snazzy was arraigned in court shortly after his arrest and subsequently sentenced to four (4) months in Malikia Prison, located along the Nimule-Juba Road.

He was reportedly convicted of refusing to be searched by an officer on duty and allegedly assaulting the officer, tearing his uniform in the process.

Reports further indicate that the singer was asked to pay $100 to secure his release but instead got into a disagreement with officials at the border.
