Presidential candidate and NUP party leader Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has been arrested in Luuka District ahead of his campaign trail.
His arrest was livestreamed on one of his social media handles covering his campaigns all over the country.
Police made their way to Kyagulanyi's car and arrested him forcefully, said of of the NUP members.
Kyagulanyi's arrest comes at a time when the Police made a statement earlier on Tuesday that they will arrest any presidential candidate or politician who breaks the guidelines issued to them by the electoral commission in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The EC and Health Ministry guidelines on electoral campaigns restricted all contesting candidates to only 200 people per campaign session.
