South Sudan-based rising Lakubukubu artist Queen Nancy has reportedly been arrested together with a boda boda rider in Gulu City over a motorcycle allegedly reported stolen.
Nancy is reportedly being detained at Gulu Central Police Station (CPS) after the motorcycle she travelled on was allegedly identified as stolen.
According to reports, Nancy said she hired the motorcycle through fellow artist Banik Solja in Obbo and travelled to Uganda with Abuna of Tong Got to record a song.
Reports indicate that after Nancy arrived in Gulu, video director Order Boy rode the motorcycle and was arrested after police allegedly discovered that it was wanted.
The motorcycle is reportedly linked to an unpaid loan involving its original owner in Uganda before it was later sold to a South Sudanese buyer in Obbo.
Nancy is reportedly being asked to raise an additional 1 million Ugandan shillings (about US$300), after her management had already paid 1.5 million shillings.
