A Kenyan pastor identified as Fred Nkulala was found hanging from a mango tree in Orom East Sub-county, Kitgum District.
The deceased, a peasant farmer, resided in Lobiri Village, Katwotwo Parish.
According to Aswa East Regional Police spokesperson Joe Oloya, Nkulala’s body was discovered on May 24 by David Lokwang, a resident of the same village, and another casual worker.
The two had gone to Nkulala’s garden for an agreed task when they found him hanging from a mango tree.
Oloya said a case of suspected suicide was registered at Orom Police Station. A team of investigators led by District Criminal Investigations Officer D/ASP Mboowa Yasin, alongside Scene of Crime officers and homicide detectives, visited the scene.
Police documented the scene before transporting the body to Kitgum General Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination. Relatives were reportedly traveling from Kenya to witness the process.
