Three South Sudanese women have been remanded to Luzira Maximum Security Prison following their alleged involvement in the killing of a Ugandan taxi driver.
Reports indicate that the suspects hired the driver for a journey and agreed on a transport fee of UGX 30,000. However, upon reaching their destination, a disagreement reportedly arose after the women refused to pay the agreed fare, offering only UGX 20,000.
The situation allegedly escalated into a violent confrontation, during which the taxi driver was attacked and subsequently died.
The three suspects were later brought before Mwana II Court in Mengo and appeared before Magistrate Doreen Ajuna.
They were ordered to remain in custody after declining to comment on the allegations.
Uganda Police have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident as investigations and further details remain awaited.
