Gulu District LC5 Chairperson Obol Justin Simpleman, together with District Education Officer (DEO) Atim Harriet Okot, has conducted a monitoring exercise of the ongoing 2026 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) across the district.
The officials visited several examination centres to assess the progress of the examinations and ensure that candidates were sitting their papers in accordance with Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) guidelines.
During the exercise, DEO Atim Harriet Okot reported that most schools had commenced their examinations on time, with minimal delays recorded.
She attributed the smooth start to logistical arrangements, including the deployment of approximately 13 vehicles to facilitate the delivery of examination materials.
Meanwhile, LC5 Chairperson Obol Justin Simpleman urged candidates to remain focused, calm and disciplined as they complete their examinations, encouraging them to approach the papers with confidence and determination.
Across the country, more than 920,000 Primary Seven candidates began their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, with Mathematics in the morning session, followed by Social Studies and Religious
