Otim Leon Joshua, a 16-year-old student of Excel High School Mukono, reportedly died due to injuries sustained during an attack on NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine's campaign in Gulu City last week.
Joshua, son of the late Colonel Anywar Justin, was beaten on the head by a hired goons that vandalized and looted properties at the campaign venue.
It's said that Joshua who had just returned home for holidays, left his parents' house to attend Bobi Wine's rally at Aware playground, reportedly to listen to his message.
He was taken to St. Mary's Hospital Lacor by his single Mother Ms. Abalo Magret, where he was diagnosed with internal bleeding due to a cracked skull and lower abdomen injuries but doctors were unable to save his life, pronouncing him dead on Tuesday.
The attack on Bobi Wine's campaign team in Gulu resulted in several injuries and property damage.
Meanwhile police have confirmed opening a general inquiry file into the attack they described as ''regrettable, undesirable, and unfortunate.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage and calls for greater accountability and reforms in the way security forces interact with civilians, particularly during political events.
