NRM Chief mobilizer for Acholi sub-region, Otangalo, has criticized NRM's Laroo-Pece Mayor candidate, Aber Gifter, calling her "illiterate" and unable to deliver.
She made these remarks during the Democratic Party President campaign launch in Laroo-Pece Division, urging Mao to support incumbent mayor Geoffrey Otim instead in the upcoming elections.
Otangalo alleges Aber Gifter can't even address a gathering at Gulu University, contrasting her with Otim, whom she describes as highly educated.
She also shared past experiences of being used to rig primary votes, only to be abandoned by leaders. Otangalo's allegations paint a picture of exploitation and disappointment.
She claims to have been a key figure in mobilizing support for the NRM in Gulu City, but feels used and abandoned after contributing to the party's efforts. Her statement highlights concerns about the treatment of grassroots supporters and the integrity of the electoral process.
"I was one of the people who started cadres in Gulu City from Gulu University and we could run leaving behind our children and husband and at the end we are given beans."
"We were lied to that they were taking us to Kyankwanzi but because we don't have voices and they used us to rig primaries votes."
