Several residents of Wilul village in Paicho sub-county ,Gulu District are suffering from diarrhea over using polluted water due to lack of clean water.

Geoffrey Okot, the area LC1 says that the overspreading of diarrhea is because of poor sanitation and poor disposal of human feces after floods have broken down all the pit latrines in the area.

''Following the issue of poor sanitation is also contributing too much because the heavy downpours have damaged most pit latrines and am also predicting that could be the result of poor hygiene because the sanitation is not well versed that the downpours have caused serious damages."

He concluded that floods have damaged three water bodies that serve the residents and eighty pit latrines that have left people dumping unwanted waste anywhere.

Diarrhea is one of the most common health complaints. It can range from a mild, temporary condition to a potentially life-threatening one.
