Mungu Feni Foundation has today in Arua District Council Hall officially launched the Weaving Hope Project: Women & Youth empowerment through advocacy , vocational skills, inclusion, networking, and growth-harness opportunities for people’s empowerment, a project to be implemented in Anzu Parish, Arua District meant to directly benefit over 360 (Three hundred sixty) members of the community from within Westnile region as 12 peer groups comprised of 30 members 70% female & 30% male, aged 16-48 years.
This project was developed through community consultations in Anju & Nyio Parishes, facilitated by Mungufeni foundation under UNNGOF’s Change the Game Program match funding.
The beneficiaries of the project comprise of Widows, school dropouts, unemployed youths, orphans, vulnerable children, PWDs, and other marginalized groups specifically targeting the young people and the youths in the westnile region aimed to equip them with practical income, income generating skills to promote self-reliance, dignity and long-term livelihoods.
The project is going to be implemented for 12 (twelve) phased months that comprises of Inception & Mobilization, Capacity Building, Advocacy & civic engagement concluded by sustainability & exit.
Hon Alfred Okuonzi, The Arua District LC 5 Chairman during the launch welcomed Mungufeni Foundation to Anzu Parish & pledged full support of the district during this project & beyond.
In his speech, Mungufeni Foundation Executive Director urged the community members & leaders to welcome the organization as the foundation will implement more projects.
