A 28 year old music promoter Opiyo Godfrey aka Samih G who recently came to limelight for faking mother's death and extorting money from friends has received his punishment from the family members.
It's said that on April 12, 2025 at around 9.pm, Samih G broke the news of the death of his mother, Margret Alobo, informing his friends that his mother had died from St Mary's hospital Lacor after a long illness.
His family members came to the know of the shocking story after one of his friends decided to personally visit the family home in Laroo, Gulu City to deliver his condolences money.
Upon arrival, the friend was met by Samih G's elder brother, William Rackara who was shocked to learn of the fake death announcement of their mother who was alive and in good health.
Rackara however informed the rest of the family, and they immediately launched a manhunt for Samih G leading to his apprehension.
Samih G was apprehended by his close friends who tricked him in the name of having a meeting with him at one of popular hangout who later whipped him more than a dozen times.
Samih G has therefore been ordered to surrender the money collected from friends who were unaware that his mother was still alive to their clan which will decide its fate.
Meanwhile the mother is also expected to undergo cleansing ritual. Samih G admitted to his wrongdoing and promised never to repeat the offense again.
