Renowned TV host and journalist Pat Robert Larubi, popularly known as Pat Larry King, says his life is in danger after learning his name is on an alleged hit list by “sinister Acholi leaders in government.”
In a public statement released Monday, Larubi claimed he has received multiple calls over the past month detailing a “national plan to execute” him. He said callers used the Acholi phrase _‘Cok Wa Tiyo I Kom Nyeri’ loosely, “Soon we shall work on this guy” as a veiled threat.
“Intimidation of a single journalist can instill fear throughout the entire journalism fraternity,” Larubi wrote. “When government officials engage in criminal activities and then attempt to shift the blame, it is a clear indication of the level of criminality that must be addressed.”
Larubi alleges four individuals are masterminding a manhunt against him. He says he has shared their identities with close associates, family, and his legal team “in case they decide to act otherwise.”
He accuses the group of targeting him for being “too critical” and says they are pressuring his friends and family to intimidate him. “They continue to do their business under cover and yet I get to know every detail of their moves,” he said.
“When leaders fear accountability, engage in sinister acts, and desire praise rather than the truth, it is utterly unacceptable,” Larubi added.
His legal team is now investigating the threats, including voice recordings and phone conversations, to “unmask the cause of the tension” and hold those involved accountable.
Larubi ended his statement with: “God uses fearless men to run his kingdom.
