A man identified only as Okello was reportedly tied up and publicly caned by members of his clan after being accused of having a romantic relationship with his brother’s wife.
According to reports, the clan elders found him guilty and sentenced him to 100 strokes of the cane.
The punishment was carried out by his brothers and uncles, with each male relative administering 10 strokes until the full sentence was completed.
These traditional clan courts operate informally. While they aim to resolve disputes quickly, they often face scrutiny for exceeding the rule of law.
