Gulu City Council officials have said street vendors risk forcefully being evicted if they don't leave the streets of Gulu City starting today 1st July, 2022.
The warning comes after many vendors started flocking the streets of Gulu City.
In the warning latter through Gulu City Office of City Clerk, street vendors have been asked to relocate themselves to Gulu Main Market, Kabedopong Market, Wilobo Market, Layibi Central Market, and other many recognized markets in Gulu City.
This is how the letter state;
"The Town Clerk of Gulu City inform the general public that effective 1st July 2022, no businesses will be allowed to on the pavements, walkways, shop verandas, Back Streets, Corridors, open spaces and along the streets within the city.
''Loading and off loading along streets and fuel stations are prohibited including hawking and any illegal evening markets.''
"All buses, taxis, lorries, and pick up must go designated Gulu main bus park, Lamogi Ber and new bus terminal in the former ababitor. This is the same to tuk tuk (tricyclers).''
Street Vendors must relocate themselves to Gulu City Main Market, Kabedopong Market, Wilobo Market, Layibi Central Market, and any other recognized markets in Gulu City.'
Failure to comply with the above directive, legal action shall be taken against you.
