A businessman was shot dead by armed robbers in Kalongo Town Council, Agago District, on Tuesday evening after he refused to hand over a bag of money.
Police identified the deceased as Morish Ocana, a resident of Kalongo Town Council in Agago North Constituency. He was shot around 7pm on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, moments after closing his shop.
Agago RDC James Nabinson Kidega said an assailant armed with a pistol approached Ocana and demanded the bag, believed to contain cash. When Ocana declined, the gunman shot him and fled with the money.
“It is still unclear whether the attacker was alone or had accomplices,” Kidega said.
Security forces have launched a manhunt and mounted checkpoints at all entry and exit points in the area.
