Amuru District Acting Veterinary Officer, Dr Ochora Samuel was on Thursday night shot dead by a security officer while on duty.
Odong Stephen Latek, the Amuru RDC said a negligent discharge from a security officer in the field killed Ochora.
According to Latek, the bullet hit him from the back and efforts to move him to the medical facility were futile. He breathed his last along the way.
