Dr Stella Amero Eduan, the Gulu University Dean of Students has been suspended for three months after an internal audit flagged alleged mismanagement of over Shs 307 million.
This follows an audit that found over 300 million shillings in irregular spending in her office.
The audit reports missing vouchers, 214 million shillings in cash payments without proof, and 87 million paid out irregularly for guild activities.
It also says 6.6 million shillings went to fake beneficiaries, and students with disabilities under her care did not receive their allowances
Dr Amero has been directed to hand over all university property and will receive half her salary during interdiction. She is barred from office and official duties but will be allowed to respond to the allegations.
University PRO James Ojok Onono confirmed the interdiction, saying it was based on audit committee recommendations. He noted two other officials, a pharmacy technician and an accountant were also suspended but declined to name them.
“We can’t say much because it’s under inquiry and there’s an assumption of innocence,” Onono said.
