Police in Aswa West Region arrested four suspects on Tuesday morning during an intelligence-led operation targeting youth gangs in Dwol Cell, Laliya Ward, Gulu East Division.
The 9:00 AM sweep led to the arrest of Okello Denis, 20, of Agonga Cell; Ocen Combon, 16, of Kabedopong Cell; Laboke Moses, 17, of Laliya Cell; and Omara Emmanuel, 18, of Obiya. Two of the suspects are juveniles.
A search recovered opium, three pangas, two knives, six plastic chairs, three phones, a hammer, breaking implements, and other household items. Some of the property, including the plastic chairs, has already been identified by owners.
ASP Ongom David Mudong, PRO Aswa West, said the four face charges of burglary and theft, possession of suspected stolen property, illegal possession of narcotic drugs, and possession of breaking implements.
The case file will be submitted to the RSA for legal advice once inquiries are complete. Police say similar operations will continue to secure the area.
