A police detective was found dead in his barracks room at Dokolo Central Police Station, triggering investigations into the cause of death.
The officer, Detective Police Constable Galandi Faiso, reportedly died Thursday night but was only discovered Friday at around midday.
Dokolo DPC SP Patience Baganzi said colleagues became worried after Faiso failed to show up for duty and did not respond to phone calls.
Officers broke into his locked room inside the barracks after repeated attempts to reach him failed. They found him unresponsive.
His body was transferred to Lira Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem as police work to determine what happened. Investigations are ongoing, and no further details have been released.
