Uganda's $129 million Hoima City Stadium in the western oil-rich district reached full completion under budget, with Turkish contractor SUMMA International delivering the 20,000-seat venue and a 2,000-seat indoor arena on schedule for the December 2025 handover.

Government officials, including State Minister for Sports, Peter Ogwang confirmed the milestone through inspections, marking it as a key facility for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.

The timely finish contrasts with delays in other Ugandan sports projects, while public reactions highlight concerns over maintenance and the site's remote location.
