Uganda's international Reggae Artiste, Anecoo Omitto became the first Ugandan artiste to join the rest of Ugandans in demonstrating against European Union Parliament's resolution against the on going construction of oil pipeline from Hoima, western Uganda to Tanzanian coast.

This is meant to cut on the cost of transport part of the crude oil, for sale to other international countries who prefer crude. The European Union bases their resolutions on environmental conversation. And so began cutting their funding to the government of Uganda's different projects.

All of this month, many different Ugandans are seen demonstrating, right from the offices of the European Union in Kampala, and other parts of the country. It began low, but each day, it gains momentum, with different school students taking the lead.

While talking to this site, Anecoo explained why him too, found it right to join the demonstration.
"First of all, it's said, 'For evil to triumph, is for good men and women sit down and watch, while doing nothing about it'. I can't sit a side and watch evil (colonialism) still flourishing in this age and era. Colonialism of any kind, is against my beliefs of pan-Africanism. I believe in every nation, to take care of her responsibilities". Anecoo further adds, "I got many issues that I don't agree with the government, but as an African, can't just watch my elder being flogged by an intruder and don't join. We got to first join the elders, and fight this foreign enemy, that after that,  after defeating the enemy, we can sit down and blame one another about this and that".
