The Forum for Democratic Change party candidate for the Omoro County by-election is on his way Gulu, the party president, Patrick Oboi Amuriat clear air.
The reports from the FDC's president indicates that the flag bearer Davis Owani is on his way Gulu.
"The reports form FDC foot soldiers in Acholi indicate that out flag bearer Davis Dick Owani is on his way to Gulu from Kamdini,'' Amuriat told journalists, nothing that Owani reported to police in Kamdini at around 1:00 am. ''for his safety after yesterday's Kidnap ordeal''.
Without any clear evidence, Amuriat said "last night Owani was violently attacked and his car windscreen was smashed plus bag of documents were stolen and subjected to physical tortured."
"I am on my way to Gulu and later Omoro to deal with the crisis, our supporters are advised to remain calm as we manage the situations". He added.
Owani who booked Thursday as his date for nomination to contest for the Omoro seat was reportedly kidnapped while on his way to Omoro District.
On Thursday morning the news of Mr. Owani Kidnapped sparked social media and left FDC supporters in deep shock.
The Aswa River Regional Police Spokesperson, David Ongom Mudong said on Thursday that "The Aswa River Regional police authority with Omoro Territorial police are closely following up an alleged kidnap incident of Owani Dick Denis, the FDC candidate in the Omoro upcoming by-election which has since gone viral on social media."
David Ongom Mudong added that the investigations in the matter have commenced.
"The candidate alleges that he was abducted by occupants in unknown vehicle who were trailing him. Mr. Owani claims they kidnapped him at Adida village in Omoro but later abandoned at corner Kamdini in Oyam District. We do take matters of threats of life including abductions seriously. Our regional teams in Aswa and North Kyoga have opened up general inquiries to help prove or disprove the allegations.''
Mudong however, urged the complainant in alleged incident to cooperate with the police inorder to provide them with all the necessary information.
"We urge the complainant in the alleged incident to cooperate with the police and provide us with all necessary information. We further wish to inform the public that the complainant in this alleged incident is out of danger and he has gone for nomination," - he added.
