President Museveni has for the first time cautioned the foreigners on deactivating over 500 NRM influencers and companies' Facebook accounts ahead of the general elections.
This comes days after California based Facebook blocked accounts of NRM bloggers who were seeking to manipulate public controversy ahead of the elections on Thursday 14th January 2021.
According to President Museveni, If the foreigners don't want to cooperate with the government of Uganda they shall not also work in Uganda.
'If they don't want to cooperate they shall not work here. I am sure the government has already blocked social media,"
He, however, urged registered Ugandans to go and vote in large numbers though there has been the practice of intimidation from the opposition's people.
''I call upon all registered voters to come out and vote, there has been the practice of intimidation well especially the oppositions people have been threatening people not to come out and vote. In some areas, they have even attacked peaceful citizens,'' he said.
