Outspoken musician turned politician Hon Bosmic Otim Joyce clearly stated that he has chosen the path of peace instead of confrontation following the recent NRM party primary election in Gulu West.

Bosmic Otim who lost to incumbent Hon Ojara Martin Mapenduzi in the NRM party primary for Bardege-Layibi Division indicated that he is not going independent in the forthcoming general election as expected.

"I'm here to tell you clearly that I am not going independent. I'm not standing as an independent candidate in the forthcoming general elections. We need to be peaceful and focused. I'm appealing to you my voters, my admirers. I thank you once again for whatever you have done to make it a success for me but still we didn't go through." "Whatever happened, it has happened already whether there was something wrong or not in the NRM primary I can't go against the party rules.'' - he appealed.

According to Bosmic, he has chosen never to go against the party rules that states clearly that whoever loses in the primary must not go against by going independent.

"The NRM party has rules that govern the party and I cannot  go against the party rules. It says clearly that whoever loses in the primaries should not go against the party by going independent so I want to appeal to my voters, everybody who voted for me I appreciate, I love you for loving me." "I appreciate whatever challenges and difficulties that you want through during the NRM primaries exercises no matter the result we are still NRM the mighty party and the ruling system. Ladies and gentlemen, girls and boys call me Hon Bosmic Otim Pa Aryemo, I choose peace instead of chaos. I'm not going to stand as an independent candidate in the forthcoming general election."

Bosmic Otim promised never to take sides but instead he is going to work with the NRM candidates who went through the primary election.

"I have accepted defeat and promised to work with everybody who went through. All the candidates who went through, those that made it in the primaries, me being your mobilizer am not going to take sides, I'm going to mobilize for you, mobilize for the president His Excellency, the party and the system. So it has been a competition so we don't have to take it so personal in a competition there must be a winner and in the primaries,we have been competing from within the NRM fraternity so there is no need to take things personal. Whoever won, you are my candidate. I'm going to support you, mobilize for you, and make sure me and you support Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni."
