Democratic Party Presidential candidate, Norbert Mao has suspended his campaign rallies until further notice as an expression of disappointment in the arrest of NUp's Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu and FDC's Patrick Oboi Amuriat.
Norbert Mao who was scheduled to campaign in Bunyoro sub region on Thursday said that he won’t campaign again until fellow presidential aspirants Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine and FDC’s Amuriat Patrick Oboi are released from detention.
Norbert Mao now becomes a forth presidential candidate to suspend campaigns after John Katumba, Gen. Henry Tumukunde and Gen. Mugisha Muntu and announced the same on Wednesday shortly after the arrest of Kyagulanyi and Amuriat
Kyagulanyi was arrested in Luuka district for flouting Covid-19 guidelines which require only 200 people at a campaign venue. He is currently in custody at Nalufenya police station in Jinja City.
While FDC’s Amuriat is currently held at Gulu Central Police Station in Gulu City.
