Reports coming in from multiple sources indicate that the proprietor of International University of East Africa's family have drowned in River Nile.
The incident occurred when a boat that was carrying four tourists and a tour guide developed engine failure and was washed away by the spillways at the Nile. The incident happened around 5PM on Sunday 30th August.
In an attempt to rescue the family, a lone boat followed along and was also hit by the spillways.
According to reports, the tour guide on the family boat and the person on the lone boat were rescued by UPDF. So far, three people have been rescued.
The people on the boat have been identified as Hassan Alwi, Super Shakirah, Amirror Alwi. Police has confirmed.
The search for the missing persons is still underway.
