A 34 year old woman has been arrested for assaulting her 3 year old daughter in Ajanyi village Pagik Parish in Paicho sub-county.
The suspect, Anek Molly allegedly beat up her toddler, Mercy Adong on Thursday, 10, October using a mingling stick after the baby asked her for food.
The 3 year old's hands, buttocks, thighs and legs were seriously wounded as a result of the beating.
Okello Rashid, the secretary in charge of children’s affairs in Paicho sub-county confirmed the incident saying that Anek acted out of anger after her husband identified as Rashid Jamal, 22, failed to buy meat for independence day celebrations due to lack of money.
