A bus belonging to Nile Star Bus Company destined for Kampala from Arua District in West Nile blew up in flames on Wednesday morning over yet to be established reasons.
The bus, reportedly left Arua in the wee hours of Wednesday morning but its journey ended suddenly upon reaching a place called Kololo between Nwoya and Pakwach when passengers were asked to vacate it after developing a mechanical problem.
By around midday on Wednesday, Mimi Hamid, the Nile Star Bus General Manager told this website that all the 55 passengers aboard the bus were evacuated with no injuries and their belongings were safe too.
He added that in the meanwhile, the company has organized for a substitute bus to arrive at the scene and take on the passengers for the remaining journey as investigations into the cause of the incident take charge.
