The Democratic Party (DP) President and Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hon. Nobert Mao on Saturday was welcomed by thousands of his supporters at Kaunda Grounds, Gulu where his homecoming celebrations were held.
The event was followed by a dinner hosted at the residence of Senior Counsel Gimaras in Gulu, to honor friends and supporters of Mao.
Hon. Minister Norbert Mao's hiring service providers from outside has left a debate on social media among Northerners.
The former Gulu University Guild Contestant Alega Benson Oringa has taken to social media to express his disappointment with Hon Minister Norbert Mao for denying his own people opportunities to handle his function instead he decided to hire events and vendors from Kampala.
"Yesterday's discussion shed light on disappointing actions by Hon. Minister Norbert Mao during his homecoming. Local businesses including events and vendors, felt neglected as he opted to hire from Kampala denying opportunities to his own people" - Alega tweeted.
By this, prominent Gulu based events organizer Paul Mutanga says that the biggest challenge is that they are all rated very lowly.
"For the past 6 years no one has pulled off events bigger than Open Mic Festival so we were engaged to supply productions (stage, lights, screens sound, etc) the biggest challenge is we are all rated very lowly. Some things are considered too big for us." - Paul Mutanga reacts.
