For several years, Gospel singer George Timothy Lubega alias Exodus has been accused for backsliding from Christianity and resorting to alcohol for solace.
On Friday, the 37-year-old was overcome with emotions during Pastor Bugembe’s concert at Hotel Africana.
Exodus broke down into tears explaining how he fell off the right path of Christianity and took to the bottle for solace.
The Igwe hitmaker however declared he has stopped drinking and promised his fans that he would not relapse.
There was a mixed reaction with some people in the crowd claiming he had made it a habit over the years. They accused him of abandoning the gospel music genre at the expense of a secular life.
Once a prolific musician over the region, he has since become a recluse since his marriage troubles and alcoholism were shared in the public gallery.
“Very many people wonder where I have been and what I have been up to. I fell back and started drinking alcohol but I promise I will never return to bars again,” Exodus said.
He however promised to change and serve his God like never before this time.
Exodus further stated that he will be moving from church to church in name of seeking for forgiveness from the born again christians.
