Northern Uganda top act, Eezzy has said he is evolving away from Northern Uganda awards and is now giving chances for upcoming artists.
During an interview with this tabloid, the Tumbiza sound star singer who had a successful concert says he is no longer going to participate in any organized awarding ceremony from the region.
"For now the award thing is not the whole Uganda but specifically Northern Uganda because I have a belief that there is no upcoming artiste from here then become artist of the year when I am also still fighting wanting to be artiste of the year. That artist might not get that privilege to step up and win the award so that is why I have decided that I have done the awards, I have won here and there as Northern Uganda is concern let me also leave for up comers to also get chance to win and also get a chance to perform on these awards and have something to win because I will not be here daily. There is another artist who is going to come as big as Eezzy and do the same thing Eezzy does and change the community so it's all about giving chances.
"Am not doing this because most people are going to get me wrong. Am not doing this because of anything but I'm doing this because I believe all the artists are good but the moment we step up and start to say you know what, we were here singing and let us leave for the young ones to sing and win the award. You know these things motivate young talents.
You know other musicians will think you have started bragging and what do you say about it?
It is not bragging, it's just giving chances to young artists who are still coming up. There are very many artists that are coming and they need motivation and other are coming wanting to be artist of the year then I Eezzy is also there fighting for the same and all the time you want to be artist of the year so it doesn't happen that way, you leave a chance/space for them so that they can also rise and also reach to their destination so that he/she get motivated that this year I became artist of the year and am going to work harder and there is no way they can do that it if I Eezzy, am also still fighting for all these things so it's just good heart giving space for the new generation to also rise.
