NRM's Boniface Henry Okot has been elected as the newly Youth Member of Parliament for Northern Region in the just concluded youth MP elections.
In the elections held at Pece War Memorial Stadium, Gulu City on Monday 1st Feb, Boniface Henry Okot secured the Youth Member of Parliament seat for Northern region after polling 1,280 votes while his challengers Young Boniface (NUP) 104 votes, Obal Daniel (Independent) 75 votes, Ocaya Kelvin (ANT) 10 votes and Odero Patrick (FDC) garnered only 3 votes.
However, the National Resistance Movement has this time dominated the just concluded youth member of parliamentary elections with majority candidates emerging from 5 regions such as Central, Western, Eastern, West Nile and Northern region where Boniface Henry Okot secured the seat.
Meanwhile, Nyamutoro Phiona who is an Alur from Nebi in West Nile was elected the new Female National Youth MP to represent female in the the 11th Parliament.
