Five people on Thursday 13, February 2025, died mysteriously in Lamwo District after a witchcraft performed magic spells on them to identify merchandise and cash thieves. The incident happened in Palabek Ogili Sub-County, Lamwo District.
This comes after thieves broke into a produce store belonging to Mwa Anthony (businessman) and stole 19 bags of sim-sim and shs3.97 million in cash on December 5th, 2024.
It's said that Mwa later reported the matter to the police but all efforts to recover the items, the money, or arrest suspects yielded no results.
However, Mwa out of frustration, on Wednesday hired a witch doctor who cast a spell that sent 13 youths running towards the crime scene from various directions.
However, yesterday five out of the 13 suspected thieves died mysteriously and the remaining eight are fighting for their lives
He said the witch doctor is demanding shs20 million for each of the suspects to be freed of the spell and return to their normal senses.
According to reports, Mwa was arrested by the police to aid with investigations while the witch doctor is at large.
