Police in Omoro district have arrested a 46 year old secondary school teacher attached to St. Charles Lwanga College Kalong in Agago district over alleged defiling of his 6 years old granddaughter from their home in Odek centre, Odek sub county Omoro district.

Nyeko Kennedy was arrested on Friday 8th from his home in Odek central village Palaro parish Odek sub-county after he was reported to police at Odek police post by Ayee Margaret the grandmother to the victim who alleged that Nyeko had sexually abused the minor.

Talking to this website on Monday, Ayee reveals that it was on Friday 8 December at around 9:00 am when she came home from her garden and found that her grandchild whose name is withheld because she is still minor was isolated from the rest of the other children who were playing in the compound.

Ayee narrated that when she engaged the victim to bring her drinking water from inside the house, she observed that the child could not properly walk the situation that prompted her to   ask the child about what had transpired.

however, the child agitatedly revealed to Ayee that it was grandfather who was playing with her private part and had directed her not to reveal to anybody if she is not to be killed

Nyeko was arrested by the police at Odek police post under case number CRB 09/08/12/2023 and later transported to Omoro Central police station where it is currently being held

However, Onen Cosmas, the guardian of the victim, faulted police at Lalogi for tempering to sabotage the cases.

According to Onen the police was not allowing the victim and the suspect to be examined from the government health facility but was driving them to unknown places claiming that they were being taken for a medical examination.

He added that he was led to a private doctor to carry out the medical examination, something which made it suspicious that police might have received bribes from the suspect.

Onen therefore proceeded to contact the police from Gulu central police station who directed him to bring the child to Gulu where she was examined from Gulu police health centre II by police medical personnel that established that the child’s private part was tempered with.

following the medical examination, the minor has been enrolled on PEP treatment to prevent her from contracted HIV the fact the suspect is HIV positive person

Moses Akena, the Omoro district police commander confirmed the arrest of the suspect saying he was detained at Omoro central police station.

Adding that his file has been submitted to the state for guidance and sanction.
