Northern Uganda Music Awards organizers have announced shortlists of 22 categories for the 18th prestigious music awards.
Established in 2003, the Northern Uganda Music Awards (NUMA), are the region’s oldest and biggest musical event that aims at promoting and rewarding both established and upcoming musicians inspiring change through the power of their voice attracting thousands of revelers. Now in its 18th year, the awards focus mainly on rewarding established and emerging artists and entertainers.
The 22 categories of this year's NUMA Awards are The Overall Artist of the year, The Male artist of the year, The Best Female Artists of the year, Lakubukubu artist of the year, The dancehall song of the year, The Hip Hop song of the year, The gospel song of the year, The reggae song of the year, The Best Afro Beat song of the year, The New artist of the year, The RnB song of the year, Breakthrough artist of the year, The collabo song of the year, The most consistent artist of the year, The comedian of the year, The Mc of the year, The radio personality of the year, The Promoter/ Influencer/ Blogger of the year, The glutton of the year/Pyem Cam, and Young Talent of the year.
Meanwhile this year's category has reduced to 22 compared to last year which was 25 categories.
However, the organizers of the prestigious annual awards have added two new categories which are Young Talent of the year and The glutton of the year/Pyem Cam.
The NUMA Awards nominations are now ongoing and it will run for 10 days. Its nomination kick-started on the 5th December and will close on the 15th of December.
