2019-2020 Lango Entertainment Awards Launched, See Full List Of Categories

Despite several Covid-19 negatively impact on the entertainment industry, The Prestigious Lango Entertainment Awards was officially launched on Sunday 18th October.

This is 5th edition of LEA ever since it came to existence in 2016 which is set for another spectacular showdown this year with a good number of acts in the entertainment industry.

The launch ceremony took place at Pacific Grand Hotel under the Theme: 'End Teenage Pregnancies'

Addressing the press, the organizers of the awards announces that this year edition dubbed 'Lockdown Edition' based on ending teenage pregnancies as a result of Covid-19 which has affected numerous lives across the world.

The LEA shall have only 24 categories for competition this year as other categories have been left out due to the effect of COVID-19 that has rendered such inactive but will be brought back in subsequent editions.

Here this year's full list of categories;
Artist of the Year-Lango
Artist of The Year- Overall Northern Uganda
Song of the Year-Lango
Song of The Year- Overall Northern Uganda
Male Artist of the Year
Female Artist of the Year-Northern
Afrobeat Song of The Year
Gospel Song of the Year
Hip Hop Song the year
RnB Song of the Year
Reggae Song of the Year
Breakthrough Artist of the Year
Best Collabo of the Year
Best Cultural Song the Year
Best Dancehall of The Year
Audio Producer of The Year
Radio Personality of the Year
The news anchor of The Year- Luo
News Anchor of the Year- English
Local Movie of The Year
Song of the Year-Acholi
Song of The Year- WestNile
Song of The Year- Teso
Lifetime Achievement/Legendary Award.

However, all songs for the competition must have been released within a calendar year (September 2019- September 2020)
Other categories will depend on how much people have been active in the industry within a calendar year as well.

''The nomination for all categories shall be online. Our team is working on the proper channels and we shall share Links that intending persons will follow and fill in their particulars and submit. We shall also develop some hashtags for different categories that people can use on social media."

Meanwhile, two new categories to encourage competition within our artists in Lango here with the rest of Northern Uganda have been added.
