Father Stabs Son To Death Over Shs 7000, Sent Behind Bars

Lira Police are holding a man accused of stabbing his son to death over seven thousand shillings(Shs.7000)

The suspect is 45-year-old man, a resident of Abongo Rwot village, Agali sub county in Lira District, is being detained at Lira Central Police Station over killing his biological son.

He allegedly stabbed his 22-year-old son, who is identified as Ceaser Eran to death on Wednesday evening.

 It is said that the deceased attempted to withdraw Shs 7000 from his father's mobile money account.

According to a reliable source, both the father and son had received payment for their casual work via mobile money, but since it was already late and all mobile money outlets were closed, the father suggested it should be withdrawn the following morning.

The deceased is said to have disagreed with his father, removed the SIM card so that he could withdraw the money in his absence. The suspect then allegedly stabbed him with a knife to death in the scuffle.

The North Kyoga Police spokesperson, Mr. James, confirmed the incident saying that the suspect was in their custody at Lira Central Police Station and the body of the deceased's body was at Lira Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem.
