A 16 year old senior two student from Busolwe Seed School, Mwajuma Nankya, has reportedly given birth to quadruplets at Busolwe Hospital in Butaleja District.
Nankya, a resident of Namulemu Village in Butaleja Town Council, delivered the four premature babies at just 29 weeks into her first pregnancy.
According to a reliable source, all the four newborns are girls, weighing 1.3 kg, 1.2 kg, 1.1 kg, and 1.4 kg, respectively
It is said that the father of the quadruplets is a student at a secondary school within Butaleja District, further highlighting the complex social challenges facing the young family.
Butaleja District has previously made headlines for producing the youngest grandmother in the country, underscoring the persistent problem of teenage pregnancies in the area.
The birth of these quadruplets emphasizes the urgent need for more education and resources to prevent teenage pregnancies and support young mothers.
Healthcare providers are expected to continue closely monitoring the health of Mwajuma Nankya and her quadruplets as they receive ongoing care at Mbale Referral Hospital.
