A section of Acholi Parliamentary Group has accused Uganda Peoples Defense Force for masterminding the killings in Apaa.
Addressing journalists at Parliament, the faction’s General Secretary who is also the Kilak South Member of Parliament Gilbert Olanya says a one 4th division commander Brigadier General Michael Kabango is supervising the destruction, burning, arrests and other inhuman acts against the people of Apaa.
He says that in the past weeks, homes of people have been burnt down and others killed by the UPDF soldiers disguised as Madi people from Ajumani using bows and arrows.
MPs who included Agago North MP Amos Okot serving as the Chairperson, Gulu Woman MP Betty Aol Ocan as Vice president, Chua West MP Philip Ojara say the government wants to forcefully own their land measuring to 42 square kilometers having found that it has oil deposits.
The MPs are now demanding that UPDF to vacate the land immediately and they are planning to excuse themselves from Parliament starting next week to join their people in reclaiming their land.
