A section of desperate members of the community have resorted to traditionalists and sorcerers as trust fades in the police's ability to apprehend criminals.
Some people say that the police have over the years failed to apprehend criminals who have either attacked them or stolen their properties even when they manage to adduce evidence.
A case in point is Immaculate Akullu, a businesswoman from Gulu City who claims that she apprehended one suspect who had stolen six million shillings from her during a business transaction in Min-Akullu, Oyam district.
Akullu explains that she had tirelessly struggled to have the suspect apprehended with the help of the police, but this yielded no fruits.
To her helplessly, Akullu sought the services of a traditionalist whom she only identified as Mzee Ngozi from the Masindi district.
On Wednesday drama ensued in Kamdini after the traditionalist claimed that he had used his magical powers to apprehend the suspect behind the stealing of Akullu`s money.
The suspect whose identity could not be verified by the time of filing this story came with a swarm of bees all over him and confessed that he had stolen the money and should be forgiven.
