The community members of Apaa in Itirikwa Sub County, Adjumani district are accusing security in the area of laxity and failing to protect the people from armed attackers.
They say that attacks in their areas are being carried out under the watch of security personnel deployed in the area at the Itirikwa barracks.
Some pointed out that they have timely reported incidences of attacks on the population to the police and soldiers yet none of them responded to apprehend the perpetrators.
This they say has prompted concerns about whether the security is not associated with the attackers, since some of them do not only come with bows and arrows but also carry guns.
The most recent attacks occurred on Friday and wee hours of Saturday morning in Oyanga Village where hundreds of structures housing residents of the area were burnt down.
Survivors and local leaders in the area allege that dozens of people were injured and several properties damaged. The security heads however say that this report is not yet verified.
On Saturday, the Fourth Infantry Division Commander, Brigadier General Michael Kabango visited the area to ascertain facts on the ground.
