Okot Francis, a Gulu University student was on Saturday 18, March, 2023 declared winner of the university's guild race. Okot beat his closet competitor Musamaino Frank with a gap of over 479 votes in the just concluded guild race.
Okot Francis gathered 1,179 votes, Musamaino Frank followed with 700 votes, Ogang Luke Benson got 257 and Okello Mathew lost with 127 votes.
The University statements Read;
"Gulu University Electoral Commission has announced Mr. Okot Francis as newly elected Guild President of 22nd Guild Government."
"Gulu University Guild Electoral Commission maintains that all these students contested as students of Gulu University and not on any party tickets.'
"The University Electoral Commission highly disassociate itself from any political party claiming any student contested on their tickets."
