Lango based upcoming musician Greaty Boy real name Morris Olum reportedly died after thunderstorm hitting Lango Broadcasting Services (LBS) radio antenna in Dokolo Town council.
The incident occured on Saturday evening following the heavy downpour that came with thunderstorm hitting the radio station antenna.
The 23 year old musician was hosted on the radio together with four other colleagues at the time of the incident.
According to a statement by the radio management, the thunderstorm hit the broadcast antennas and parts of the mast, crashing into one of the studios and injuring five artists who were on air to publicise a musical show.
Fred Eladu, the station manager notes in the statement that the injured artists were taken to Dokolo Health Center IV for medical attention.
The on Air Studios at 90.3 LBS Radio in Dokolo Town Council on Saturday 25th March, 2023 at around 7:30pm was hit by thunderstorms that broke the broadcast antennas and parts of the mast, crashing into one of the studios and injuring five artists who were on air to publicise a musical show.
The injured artists were taken to Dokolo Health Center IV for medical attention.
"Four of them had minor injuries and have since been discharged from hospital to their homes. However, we learned with sadness that one person later succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment."
Management will contact and work with the family of the deceased through out this difficult moment and will share more details later.
The Management and Staff of LBS are saddened by this unfortunate accident and heartily commiserate with the family and friends of the deceased.
