Police in Kole district has arrested a man for allegedly kicking his uncle to death in Abiro-poo village, Ayer Sub County over 2,000 Uganda shillings.
Komakech Kelly allegedly assaulted Otim Jimmy on Monday and he died moments later at the scene.
Ambrose Okai, an eyewitness, says the quarrel started when Oketcha demanded Shillings 2000 he paid his uncle as an advance to help him to construct his house. According to Okai, Komakech kicked Otim hard in the chest, leading to his death.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga Spokesperson, confirmed the incident saying the body of the deceased was conveyed to Lira Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem while the suspect is being held at Kole Central Police station.
According to the police crime 2020/2021, a total of 1,096 persons were assaulted to death of whom 903 were adult male, 128 adult females, 41 were male juveniles and 24 were female juveniles in the whole country.
