President Yoweri Museveni has ordered for the closure of schools, which includes primary, secondary, universities, tertiary institutions and religious places in an attempt to prevent the spread and contact of Coronavirus.
This comes just after the world is being hit by the noval virus which is spreading like wildfire. Although no cases have been confirmed yet in Uganda, the government thought it wise to prevent it before it hits Uganda real hard.
Religious institutions will as well be closed. All the affected institutions will resume normal operations after 32 days. Public rallies have also been suspended. If the condition persists, cancelation of future events such as elections will take effect, according to Museveni.
President Museveni also said Ugandans should not travel to high risk countries because when they return, they will be quarantined at their own cost.
Coronavirus cases have now been confirmed in over 21 countries such as neighbouring Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Congo.
