Celebrated journalist and news anchor Herbert Zziwa has resigned from Kampala Serena-based station, NTV of Nation Media Group.
Zziwa who has been presenting the NTV Akawungeezi news took to his social media handles to reveal that he was bringing his 7 years in the Newsroom to an end.
He then proceeded to thank his employers, especially Nation Media Group where he’s been a formidable figure. Zziwa further revealed that he’s taking on a new role as the Manager Communications at the National Building Review Board (NBRB).
“Today I sign out of the Newsroom after 7 years. Thank you @ntvuganda @DailyMonitor @933kfm and the viewers. I now take on my new role as Manager Communications, National Building Review Board (NBRB).”
NTV also posted a tribute to him on their social media pages. He was described as a hardworking, reliable, and self- driven person.
“Goodbye is indeed a sad word just like some musician put it. @zziwaherbert, you have been hard-working, reliable and self-driven when duty called. We appreciate your efforts and wish you well on your new journey.”
The station has in the recent past lost some of its top journalists to rival stations, especially Next Media Service’s NBS and Sanyuka TV.
However, this seems a huge loss for the Nation Media station. It seems to be weakening each time its presenters press the exit button.
