Due to the increasing cases of the second wave of the deadly novel coronavirus in the country, the leading Northern Uganda film production house, Northhood Production management has decided to postpone the premiering of 'City Of Destiny'.
The movie that was scheduled to be premiered this weekend on Friday 18th June 2021 has been postponeded until further notice following the President Museveni's ban on schools, public transport and religious gathering for 42 days in a bid to curb the spread of the virus.
The announcement concerning the movie premiering being postponed has been made through the production house's social media platforms.
"Take Notice that Covid-19 is here at our own backyard, almost every neighborhood has one or more cases which we may not know and we have run out of vaccines. We are aware, we are cleared with the city Covid-19 task force chairperson i.e Resident City Commissioner and Resident District Commissioner to hold the premier with adherence to the SOPs. However, for the safety of City Of Destiny fans who overwhelmingly bought tickets already and those who had prepared to come for the premiering scheduled for 18th June 2021 at Bomah Hotel Gulu, Northhood Production Gulu has suspended the premier until 42 days. This is to keep the public and NPG team safe. We shall notify the public vide the next date as it shall be advised by Ministry of Health. ''together we can make a difference."
Meanwhile, the country has registered 1,727 new cases. The cumulative confirmed cases are 61,977. Stay home and wear your face mask to curb the spread of the virus.
